Poll: Cavalli v. Baby Phat

Congrats to Jessica Simpson for winning our buckles bag battle. Now onto dresses. Printed dresses can be hit or miss. It's all about the cut of the dress - Which dress would you buy?
or
(technically this is not a print dress but similar concept. the cut of dress looks much better on Kimora).

VOTE TO THE RIGHT, TO THE RIGHT!!!!

What's in my bag at . . .

Just had to say

This is hot!!! Valentino's Leopard-Print Bow Clutch for $985.

Cavalli at H&M

As you know Roberto Cavalli launched his line at H&M a few weeks ago. A few dresses I've seen remind me a bit of the Baby Phat collection - sexy styles, prints and bling but with a slight rocker edge as opposed to Baby Phat's hip hop edge. Just wanted to put that out there.

Baby it's cold outside

but you can stay warm when you go outside with these!!

HATS
Cable knit berets - change it up from the typical skully.
Urban Outfitter's Cable Knit beret for $24.00
Surell Accessories Mink Beret for $390 (that's right $390! buy it if you got it like that!)

GLOVES
Try something different from the ones grandma gets you
Alfani Tricot-Lined Knot-Detail Leather Glove for $64.50
Fownes 10 Button Patent Leather Gloves for $150 (again if you roll like that, then roll!)

SCARVES
Instead of the typical knit scarf - go for Paisley (which are my fav) or animal print. More versatile and keep you warmer than knit scarves. If you are a knit die hard, try one with a metallic flare.
Echo Paisely Wrap for $78.00
La Fiorentina Paisley Print Wrap for $17.99 (the more affordable alternative)
Amicale Animal Print Wrap $150

and of course there are LEGWARMERS

Sweater Season

Every season, I find a reason to buy a sweater. Winter - it's cold outside. Fall - it's getting cold outside. Spring - it's a little breezy outside. Summer - just in case it's too cold inside. But this season, I'm not stopping myself, because SWEATER DRESSES are back!!!! Here are some favs.
LaRedoute's Ribbed Sweater Dress for $34.99 (not the best shot of the dress but I see potential)

Buckles - Choo v. Simpson

Buckles are not just for belts. They are on shoes and bags. Check these bags out and VOTE to the right, to the right.

Dear Santa - I don't like snakes but

This Jimmy Choo bag is on my Christmas list. Jimmy Choo's Python Ramona Bag for $3,495 at Neiman Marcus. I think I've been a good girl and I deserve it. In keeping with my delusions of gradeur, I'll give a hint to my David Beckham look alike millionaire husband that I want this for Christmas!

The Mind of Jessica Simpson

I never wanted to be blonde, I never wanted to be married to Nick Lachey (I have, however, wanted to date John Mayer), so I never wanted to be Jessica Simpson, but for brief moment, while I was watching the View and saw Jessica Simpson's versatile, hip, and modern clothing collection, I wanted Jessica's mind and hair weave, . . . just for a second. Especially when I saw this green coat, she paired with skinny jeans and knee high brown boots. See the you tube link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3A_FqQ_NAHg

Let's give it to the girl for killing the shoe game (have you noticed that wherever you see a bangin' Steve Madden shoe, a JS shoe is not too far behind?) and the weave collection (which has to be making her a lot dough) and jewerly etc.

Boots made for (insert activity) . . .

Two posts ago I said Boots are made for some other things outside of walking so here's a good example of that - Victoria Secret's Over the Knee Stretch Boots for $98.00. Some activities that come to mind - flossing, rocking, partying, seducing, . . .

Oh Loewe how you do me!!!

or maybe I should say - Te quiero mucho Loewe!! Loewe (a German craftsman who settled in Madrid and was drawn in by the Spanish leather tradition) has some of the most beautiful bags and clothes I've seen. I fell in love with Loewe's Black Python and Gold Coloured Metallic Nappa Bag. It looks more beautiful in person and so does the store in Barcelona!! To see the bag go to the site, click on colletions - accessories - woman - handbags - napa.aire, then scroll toward the end and prepare to drool. The best picture of the bag I can bring you is this photo from the spring 2007 fashion show and the model is carrying a similar bag in tan. Too bad there are only Loewe shops in Honolulu and San Franciso. I'd have a couple of these bags in Tilshop (in my private collection)!!!

Boots are made for walking . . .

and any other activity you would like to do with them. In Spain, boots are made for walking and most people are walking in boots. In Barcelona, boots are worn with everything. Knee high, flats, textured, slick leather, whatever you want. If you didn't get your boot on yet, there's still time - check these which I'd say were or could be worn in Barcelona - Vagary boot at Nine West on sale for $99.99. Hot!!!.

But if you really want to get your boot for walking on check out Farylrobin 'Edie' Boot at Nordstroms for $269.95.
Check this one for the more affordable alternative - Mia Womens Caravan Boot at Famous Footwear on sale for $70.00

And I particularly like the one Natasha Bedingfield is wearing in her new video "Love like this" (it's at the end, and the boots are cute too). Very club chic!

November BLING - birthstones

Okay November babies - It's your month to shine so how about rocking your birthstone - topaz or citrine. There's some issue as to which one is the November birthstone (see http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art33839.aspfor facts and legend) - so what do I say? - ROCK both!!!

Check out this 16ct White Topaz 10k gold ring for only $169 at HSN (rock on one hand) and this 3ct Leopard-Print Enamel and Citrine 14K Ring for $439.95 at HSN (rock it on the other).

Legwarmers - not just for 6th graders

Some people were surprised that legwarmers on my shopping list. Let's be real, legwarmers should never have gone out of style, especially when people are still wearing fishnets stockings and banana clips. I've seen both on one person. If you are wearing knee high boots, you can wear legwarmers as an option too.

Check the style potential here! Over tights, over skinny jeans, over booties! Above are legwarmers available at Urban Outfitters for $16.00. I mean why did they ever leave? Still don't believe? Picture this - you're wearing you flyest outfit that shows off what your momma gave you - your gorgeous legs. And you had the brilliant mind to wear your sex me 4 inch heels because after all you are a diva. You head out for some D&D (drinking and dancing) at one the city's hottest spots but you didn't get there early enough so you are stuck in line so long you'll be a popsicle (and ready to bitch slap the bouncer) before you get in. You didn't rock your hot mama outfit with your long fur/leather/shearling/faux (all of the above) coat because you didn't want it to get "lost" at coat check. So what should you have done? That's right - wore some legwarmers or even some leggings, both can be neatly tucked away in purse or coat pocket when you get inside. The stylish chick in front of you did. And now you're mad. Yeah you could have worn pants but to quote legwarmers.blogspot.com, "but that's a lot less fun."
